Build a Treehouse!
Help
and assistance from everyone - youth as well as senior citizens - is greatly
appreciated! Whatever the job may be - cutting, nailing, sanding, distributing
food or providing child care - no experience is necessary. Review the
committees below, then click on the committee link you're interested in
to submit your volunteer information.
| Childcare
Committee This committee will be responsible for children’s activities during building at the site. |
Purchased
Materials Committee Purchased Materials will work with Donated Materials to acquire all that is needed for building the playground. |
| Food
Committee The Food Committee will be responsible for providing two meals per day to volunteers during the build. Contacting local restaurants and grocery stores, organizing pot-luck meals, and serving are all areas to be coordinated. |
Fundraising
Committee Fundraising is an area that needs individuals with the gift of sales. The Fundraising Committee will be visiting with local individuals and businesses to generate the funds we need to build the playground. |
| Public
Relations/Media Committee PR needs a few individuals with connections to the different media sources. This committee is responsible for getting the word out to the community using every source available. |
Donated
Materials Committee This committee will have the task of finding sources for materials to be donated to the project. It will require visiting with business owners and other potential donor sources. |
| Build
Volunteer These are our volunteers who will be working in scheduled shifts during the build. A normal shift is four hours, but a builder is always welcome to work for as long as they like, and for as many days as they like. All skill levels are needed for the build. |
Design
and Special Needs Committee Our playground has been custom designed by a professional design firm. This committee’s function is to review and improve on the design as the project moves forward. Special Needs are being carefully considered and included when and where ever possible. |
| Tools
Committee The Tools Committee will oversee gathering all the necessary tools to have for use during the build. Tools will work with Materials to make sure that everything needed is on hand during the build. The project will be borrowing many tools, and the Tools Committee will be responsible for the organization and safe return of all things borrowed. |
Construction
Captains The Construction Captains play a vital part in our building of the playground. They need to be on site for the entire length of the build. Their role is to oversee different areas of construction and keep the build volunteers organized and on track. Quality control is also a part of the role they will play. Possessing good people skills is important. Male and female Construction Captains are needed. |
| Volunteers
Committee The Volunteers Committee will coordinate having the build volunteers organized and informed about the build schedule. A call-a-thon will be one of the major tasks to be coordinated shortly before the build. |
