What Is The Fountain Inn Treehouse Project?

It is a community-based effort to build an incredible treehouse-themed playground, giving children of the Golden Strip and surrounding area a safe, accessible, fun and creative

environment for play. It will be built entirely with donated funds, materials, labor and tools, all raised from local businesses, civic groups, individuals and available grant monies.

It is our hope to accomplish not only building a playground, but building a community by bringing everyone together for a common goal through a hands-on project.

Leathers & Associates, Inc., the same firm that designed Kid's Planet in Greer, has been selected as our development partner and will work closely with us on planning the playground.

Where Will it Be Located?
The Fountain Inn Parks and Recreation Department, with approval by the city, donated land for this project at Woodside Park. Woodside Park is located at the corner of Shaw Street and Woodside Avenue, and currently hosts three ball fields, a picnic shelter, and a 1/4 mile walking trail. The City of Fountain Inn has also donated $75,000 in funds as seed money to start this project.

When Will This Project begin?
A steering committee has already been formed, and "DESIGN DAY" will officially kick off the project on November 14th. A designer from Leathers & Associates will visit Fountain Inn and Bryson Elementary Schools for input from our children, then unveil the preliminary design the same evening at a community party. We will begin the process of raising funds, and when we have raised the necessary monies, we will announce a date for "BUILD DAY".
